After a loss from Game one of the three game series, the Ice Haulers fell in game two 4-3. After a suspended game due to rain, the Haulers and Locos rested up to pick up from the top of the 3rd for the 9-inning regulation finish.

Pitcher, Francisco (Frankie) Olivarez, earned the start for the Haulers tallying one strikeout in his two innings pitched. The Haulers brought in three other pitchers to try to save the lead after Brayden White of the Lima Locos had a 2 run RBI in the top of the 5th inning. Matt Gauer, So. from Indiana State University, threw out 3 batters in a row to advance the Locos on to victory.

Unfortunately for the Haulers, their scoring was halted at this point, but defensively kept the game to a 4-3 finish in favor of the Locos.

The Haulers entered Game Three of the series with an 0-2 record. Scoring started early in Game 3 with Bryant Herring of the Lima Loco’s double which brought in 3 runners. The Ice Haulers tied it up in the bottom of the second inning with Michael Pollard scoring on a wild pitch.

The Locos then went on to take the lead in the top of the third and didn’t slow down from there. Carson Garner of the Locos hit a screaming double to bring Cade Sadler of the Locos home. The Haulers struggled the fourth inning as the Locos brought in four more runners from there. The Haulers tried to rally in the bottom of the fourth and fifth innings, but their fourth inning lull was too steep to overcome.

The Ice Haulers will be back at home tomorrow night at 7PM to take on JetBox. This series against JetBox will span from Friday June 10 through Sunday June 12 to conclude the Hauler’s first week in GLSCL play.
