After winning two straight, the Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers looked to gain their third straight win. The Ice Haulers traveled to Lima, as they took on the Lima Locos.

The bats came alive today, as Three Hillier (Freshman, Liberty University) got his first three hits of the season. “Do not let the Ice Haulers get hot. We come to play, and it feels good to be a part of this team,” said Hillier.

Tucker McEnroe (Freshman, Texas A&M Corpus Christi) had his second game coming out of his injury and continues to improve. McEnroe had another RBI, and now has extended his RBI streak to two games. “It feels good coming out of injury. Haulers are rolling, and we are not going to stop, “said McEnroe.

Jackson Green (Freshman, East Tennessee State University) has yet to go a game without going hitless, as he extends his hitting streak to eight games, after an RBI single in the fourth inning.

On the Mound, Dino Vecchiolla (Freshman, Seton Hill) put in five innings of solid work as he would take the win for the Ice Haulers tonight.

Lastly, in the sixth inning, Scott Mackiewicz (Freshman, University of Toledo) continued to stay hot at the plate, hitting a grand slam. He had five total RBIs.

This contest was a slug fest as there was a total of 23 runs. The Ice Haulers took the win 16-7. The Ice Haulers have now won three straight and improve to 3-5. “These kids have character, and I am happy we are improving,” Coach Clay said.

The Ice Haulers will continue their road trip Saturday, June 12, as they take on the Grand Lake Mariners.
