Coming off a win in game one, the Ice Haulers were looking to close the semi-final series over the Lima Locos. Luke Lashutka (Freshman, St. Bonaventure University) got the call to start the game, as Sandusky Bay headed to Lima.

It would not take long for the Locos to strike first, as they hit a two-run homer to start the game.

In the third inning, Zachary Campbell (Senior, Tiffin University) would put the Ice Haulers on the board, with an RBI single to score Dominic Magliocca (Freshman, Miami University). The Ice Haulers trailed the Locos, with a score of 2-1 heading into the fourth inning.

The catcher, Braden Durham (Sophomore, Seton Hill University) would tie the game with an RBI single. The score between both teams were now two runs apiece, heading into the fifth inning.

Zachary Campbell would come up big again, as he hit a solo homerun to give the Ice Haulers their first lead of the game. The score was now 3-2, in favor of the Ice Haulers. This homerun was Zachary Campbell’s first homerun of the entire season.

The Locos would strike for three runs off Lashutka, to give themselves a 5-3 lead over the Ice Haulers. Lashutka would finish the game, going six innings. He struck out six Locos, while allowing four earned runs, four hits, and one walk. After Lashutka was relieved, the Locos would score two more runs to increase their lead to a 7-3 score.

Heading into the final inning, the Ice Haulers would strike with a two-run blast, hit by Dominic Magliocca. This brought the Locos lead to just two runs. The Ice Haulers would get one more man in scoring position but would fail to capitalize the comeback situation. The Locos would finish the game with a win over the Ice Haulers, by a score of 7-5 to tie up the series.

The Ice Haulers will return to Sandusky, hoping to close the series with a win, and clinch a championship spot. The first pitch will begin at 7:05pm at Sports Force Parks.
