The Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers dropped the series finale to JetBox Baseball Club Thursday night in Highland Michigan, 1-7. The Ice Haulers did not score until the sixth inning of the match-up and only scored once, which was not enough to take down JetBox who had jumped to an early lead in the second.
K. Preston hit a two-run homerun in the second inning to bring home N. Krol for the JetBox lead. JetBox went on to score one run in the third, fifth, and sixth innings, along with two more runs in the bottom of the eighth. Cole Daniels picked up the win on the mound for JetBox.
Cameron Darrington earned the start on the mound for the Ice Haulers. Darrington pitched 4.1 innings and recorded five strikeouts and four runs. Orlando Loyd came in to pitch relief and close out the series pitching for 3.2 innings, tallying two strikeouts and three runs. Key highlights from the match-up include Jacob Armsey’s tenth RBI on the season and Nathan Archer’s seventeenth stolen base.
The loss against JetBox created a three-way tie for first place in the North Division GLSCL play amongst Sandusky Bay, JetBox, and the Michigan Monarchs. Each team sits at twelve wins and nine losses.
