Game 1:
The Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers traveled to Muskegon, to take on the Clippers in a double header. Last time Sandusky Bay met with Muskegon, the Clippers swept the Ice Haulers in the previous double header, which was in Sandusky. The Ice Haulers were coming into these two games losing to the Lima Locos in their previous contest.

In the first seven inning game, Mitchell Spencer (Sophomore, University of South Carolina Upstate) took the mound for Sandusky. He would only allow three hits, two earned runs, and one walk. In his five and a third innings of work, he would also strike out four Clippers. However, he could not get the run support, as the Ice Haulers would not score any runs.

The Ice Haulers were shutout, as the Clippers took game one, with a score of 4-0. Sandusky Bay was held with just four hits. Scott Mackiewicz (Freshman, University of Toledo) had two out of the four.

Game 2:
After losing the first game, the Ice Haulers came ready to play for the second. Jeremy Graley (Junior, West Virginia State University) took the mound for game two.

The Ice Haulers got on the board first, with a two-run home run hit by Nick Mueller (Freshman, Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi) in the third inning. In the same inning, Mark Connelly (Sophomore, Lansing Community College) hit an RBI single, scoring Zachary Campbell (Senior, Tiffin University).

On the mound, Jeremy Graley would go three and two third innings, with no hits or earned runs. He also struck out seven Muskegon batters. Owen Kovacs (Junior, East Tennessee State University) would come in to pitch one and a third of an inning, keeping Sandusky’s no hitter alive.

The Ice Haulers were three outs away from a no-hitter, as Muskegon would get a lead-off single in the seventh inning. However, Sandusky got the win with a score of 3-1.

Looking at the standings, Sandusky Bay currently leads the North Division over the Lima Locos by four and a half games. There are currently eight regular season games left for the Ice Haulers. The next contest for the Ice Haulers will be another road game, as they will take on the Jet Box Baseball Club.
