The Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers entered Sunday's match-up against the JetBox Baseball Club up 2-0 in the series, only to fall in the match-up with a final score of 8-4.
The game went scoreless until the top of the fifth inning when JetBox player Ryan Lux batted in John Lauinger for a single. The Ice Haulers attempted to bring in Bobby Perebzak, Freshman at Ohio University, and Alec Mendoza, Junior at Notre Dame College, for the save but were unable to salvage the inning.
The home team finally started to rally in the bottom of the sixth inning with Andrew Horvath, Freshman at the University of Akron, getting walked to first bringing in Garret Pike, Sophomore at the University of Toledo. Ty Stolarski, Freshman at the University of Akron, with his line drive through the gap in center field to bring two runners home. The Ice Haulers continued their run into the eighth inning but could not overcome the fifth inning lull.
Ice Haulers Pitching Staff Report: Casey Maniglia, Senior at the Ohio State University, tallied four strikeouts in four innings pitched. Orlando Loyd, Senior at the University of Tennessee, threw one strikeout in his two innings pitched.
The Ice Haulers will be back in action Tuesday, June 14th against the Clippers. The three-day home stand will span from June 14th through the 16th. Tuesday's first pitch will be thrown at 7PM.
