The Ice Haulers were seeking to find their first win of the season, as they took on the Muskegon Clippers in a double header. the game, there would be over a three-hour rain delay, before the two teams would have a chance to compete. During the first game, Jackson Green (Freshman, East Tennessee State University) pushed his hitting streak up to 4 games, Zachary Campbell got on base 3 times going 2-3 with a walk, and Dominic Magliocca (Senior, Miami University of Ohio) would get his first hit of the season. However, after leaving several men on base during the game, the Ice Haulers would not be able to keep up with the Clippers. Clippers took game 1, 7-1.
During the second game, The Ice Haulers took the first lead in the second inning, after a wild pitch thrown by Bryce Davis for the Clippers, Nolan O’Connell (Sophomore, University of Findlay) would take advantage to give the Ice Haulers a 1-0 lead. However, after a three-run blast in the fifth inning by the clippers, it would seal the win for the Clippers, as they take a 4-2 win in game 2.
The Ice Haulers have now fallen to 0-5 during their first ever season as a team. Their next game will be played Wednesday, June 9 at Sports Force Parks, in Sandusky, Ohio. They will take on the Grand Lake Mariners at 7:05pm.
