The Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers entered today’s match-up with JetBox Baseball Club 2-0 in the series, only to fall in today’s match-up 8-4.
Scoring did not start until the top of the fifth inning when JetBox’s Ryan Lux, Junior at Eastern Michigan University, single batted in John Lauinger. JetBox hit their stride from there on as the Ice Haulers attempted to bring in Bobby Perebzak and Alec Mendoza for the save.
The Ice Haulers started to rally in the bottom of the sixth inning with Andrew Horvath, Sophomore at the University of Akron, walk to first bringing in Garret Pike. Ty Stolarski, Sophomore at the University of Akron, also advanced two runners with his line drive through the gap in center field.
Casey Maniglia, Junior at the Ohio State University, tallied four strikeouts in his four innings pitching. Orlando Loyd of Terra State Community College also tallied one strikeout in his two innings pitched.
The Ice Haulers continued their run into the eighth inning, but could not overcome the fifth inning lull.
The Ice Haulers will be back in action Tuesday June 14th against the Clippers. This home stand will span from June 14th through the 16th. First Pitch Tuesday will begin at 7PM.
