The Sandusky Bay Ice Haulers looked to get their 12th consecutive win, as they took on the Lima Locos. Brandon Bergert (Sophomore, Seton Hill University) made his fourth appearance against the Locos, as he took the mound for the Ice Haulers.

The Ice Haulers wasted no time, as they struck first with a two-run blast, hit by Scott Mackiewicz (Freshman, University of Toledo). Mackiewicz now has six home runs this season.

Leading 2-0, the Ice Haulers scored four more runs in the third inning, after a grand slam hit by the centerfielder, Nick Mueller (Freshman, Texas A&U – Corpus Christi).

In the fifth inning, Dominic Magliocca (Freshman, Miami University) joined the home run parade, hitting his second solo shot of the season.

Nick Mueller would give himself another home run, hitting a two-run blast to left field. Mueller’s two home runs lead to six RBIs for the Hauler centerfielder. “I am hoping we break the record for the highest win streak that a Sandusky baseball team has ever had. It felt great getting the home runs, and I am looking forward to see what we have in store,” Mueller said.

Jordan Andrade (Freshman, University of Nevada Las Vegas) extended his hitting streak seven games, while also hitting an RBI single in the seventh inning for the Ice Haulers.

On the mound, Brandon Bergert went five innings allowing three hits and one walk. Bergert also struck out four Lima Locos in his solid performance. He would obtain a well-deserved win, as the Ice Haulers run ruled the Locos, with a score of 15-0.

The Ice Haulers will continue their road trip, as they will travel to Celina tomorrow to take on the Grand Lake Mariners. First pitch will begin at 7:00pm.
